Let me repeat that because it’s amazing:  I now have a dedicated room for a studio!

I’ve been working on this for the last two months and work will continue for a while longer.  I’m really excited about it!  Along with that, I’ve also started working on some demos here and there.  I’ve posted two of them on the SoundCloud page.

I’ve also moved on from using the Waldorf Blofeld (I know I just posted a blog earlier this year about how much I liked it, but with the Virus TI Snow already in the studio it covers a lot of the same ground).  I’ve got my eyes on a new synth though, a true analog, so keep your ears available for some great new sounds available soon!

These guys in particular were very influential on me at an early age; I remember going to a record store in Buffalo and picking up On the Wires of Our Nerves by Add N to X because it had a picture of two guys in doctor outfits stuffing a Moog synthesizer into a woman’s stomach on the cover.  Six Finger Satellite’s Machine Cuisine was a 7″ vinyl my older brother got me for Christmas when I was in high school and it blew my mind.

]]> http://digitalgeist.com/you-like-free-things-right/feed/ 1 New Sample Set Coming http://digitalgeist.com/new-sample-set-coming/ http://digitalgeist.com/new-sample-set-coming/#comments Wed, 01 Feb 2012 04:26:40 +0000 Digital Geist http://digitalgeist.com/?p=1115 I was setting up the new computer and using the APC40 last night messing around with some of the material I have that’s been archived in my massive “DG Audio” drive (2TB if you’re wondering).  It occurred to me that I have a lot of odd snips lying around that I haven’t used yet that I’m not interested in threading into new songs, so why not let somebody – or everybody – else have them?  A real pity is there’s a whole bank of loops that I made that don’t loop well so they won’t be included in anything and will probably be deleted.  Other than that there’s lots of stuff to go through and upload; however I don’t mind giving them up for free.

If I have the time, I hope to put them up by Sunday.  Chances are it’ll be done before then if I get bored though.
