Track: Digitalis

Here we have the fifth track out of twelve on the album. If you’re familiar with my work as DG, then you know that this track has had umpteen versions released on umpteen+1 CDr releases as it was the very first track I ever sequenced as DG back in 1999. 11 years later I decided to create this final iteration. Why? Haven’t I tortured people enough with this track or beaten it into the ground enough? No; in fact this version was created to give the track some closure and exposure. I have lots of new people listening to my music now since The Zero Engine was released who haven’t heard any versions of this song yet so it’s better to “officially” release it as a part of a pressed album to get it out there. And modesty aside, this track bangs.

A 303 lead and a sine solo all from the JP-8000 are the original synth sounds used in this track from the ’99 version. New breakbeats, basslines and some production oomph from Ableton Live and the Access Virus TI bring the older sounds some new life and competition. I wanted to make this song quick and to the point, and clocking in at 3:31 it’s the 2nd shortest song on the album.
